Equal gender pay in the UAE?

Equal gender pay in the UAE?

I won’t lie, I was very surprised to read this. For something that so many countries have been struggling for years to achieve, the UAE has passed a law approving equal pay for men and women.  His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, said the country's constitution guarantees impartiality between men and women as a fundamental right. "Our Constitution calls for equal rights and duties of the genders, and we seek to elaborate, enforce and guarantee this constitutional right through the new law," he tweeted. "We do not want any exception when it comes to providing equal opportunities for both genders."

This is amazing news and proves just how forward thinking and how quickly the UAE is moving forward! Currently there is not a country in the world with 100% equal pay based on gender. So, who knows, the UAE could be the first.

Well done UAE! I am very pleased to see you acknowledging and appreciating the work that both males and females do to give back to their country!
